It is vitally important to train and equip the youth of today for the leadership opportunities that will be present in their future. Dream Builders Foundation’s goal is to provide support to organizations that foster individual growth and develop youth leadership skills. Dream Builders Foundation supports the efforts to inspire and empower youth to a life dedicated to achievement and service.

In May 2014, the Dream Builders Foundation delivered on its promise. The Foundation funded the inaugural pilot leadership development program “Kappa Academy”, hosted by the leadership of Northeastern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The Northeastern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. has been training young men for leadership for more than 84 years. Kappa Alpha Psi has trained thousands of young men in lifelong skills that can mean the difference between mediocrity and success. By providing these young men with leadership education through the eyes of positive role models from vested individuals (fraternity leadership), the young men have become empowered to escape poverty and whatever obstacles stood in their way to meet their aspirations in life.

The Northeastern Province’s Kappa Academy is an extension and enhancement of the leadership training that is afforded to its membership. The Northeastern Province’s leadership development program and the Dream Builder’s Foundation mission alike share a strong dedication to empowering youth and particularly young men of color who are in need.
