Eugene N. Anderson

Chairman

A respected, gifted strategist, and highly experienced in the fields of marketing, communication, management and public service, Eugene N. Anderson, is a highly qualified and accomplished professional.  Anderson currently serves as Senior Director, Industry Relations and External Affairs for SUEZ, headquartered in Paramus, New Jersey. Anderson joined the organization in December 2006 as Client and Public Relations Manager in the Indianapolis office.  In January 2009, he was promoted to Director of Marketing Communications, moving to the New Jersey headquarters.  He has broad expertise in management, marketing, communication, client development, customer service, team building, and community engagement.

Mr. Anderson is responsible for broadening the relationship between industry/governmental organizations and the company to foster meaningful interaction, leading to improvement of the company’s profile and helping develop business opportunities. In addition collaborating with other departments within SUEZ to develop and implement ongoing strategies for the identification, prospecting and stewardship of external partnership which support the SUEZ mission, vision and values.  These partnerships assist SUEZ to establish, maintain and foster its position as the leader in the water and wastewater industry nationally and internationally.  He also develops and executes marketing programs that communicate the company’s value proposition to current and potential clients.  Anderson contributes to the company’s branding strategy relative to consistent messaging of all marketing, collateral and public relations materials used by the organization.

Before joining SUEZ, Eugene spent five years serving in the public sector under Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson as Assistant Deputy Mayor. Prior to joining Mayor Peterson’s cabinet, Eugene held the title of Senior Project Manager in the Department of Metropolitan Development. It was here that he wore the hat of public servant and elevated his reputation of being able to affect and initiate change among diverse groups with varying experiences and interests.  

With a deeply rooted passion for service Eugene donates his time, talents and treasures to numerous non-profit organizations. A few of these organizations include; African American Mayors Association Business Council, NBC-LEO Foundation Board of Directors, UNCF, National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners, and president of the Diamond Scholarship Charitable Fund. In 2016 Anderson was elected to the Board of Directors for Dream Builders Foundation.

His commitment to improving the quality of life for those in need has garnered local and national recognition. In 2013, he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame, along with the members the 1982 undefeated football team at his alma mater, Wabash College. Eugene received the Board of Directors Award from the Center for Leadership Development in 2008, and selected as Most Distinguished Alumni of Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis in 2004. A Life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and active at all levels of the fraternity.  Eugene served as the national co-chairperson of the Kappa Alpha Psi “Centennial Celebration”, highlighting 100 years of achievement in July 2011.

Eugene holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana.  He is also a graduate of the Diversity Leadership Academy of Greater Indianapolis, Class III.

Jimmy McMikle, MBA

Powered by the passionate belief that everyone can achieve greatness, and driven by the opportunity to spark significant, powerful change, Jimmy McMikle has dedicated his life to service.  He regularly inspires audiences of children, college students, educators, parent groups and professionals alike, championing achievement and bridging the gap between current positioning and desired direction. 

Jimmy is a respected leadership consultant, accomplished author and sought-after motivational speaker and life coach. Three simple, yet powerful words define his mission and direct his passion to equip people for success: Educate, Inspire, & Empower!   He is President of the McMikle Group, LLC, a leadership training and development company based in Hartford, Connecticut.  He shares the distinction of being a certified John C. Maxwell Speaker, Trainer, and Life Coach with a select group of phenomenal speakers worldwide, personally trained and mentored by global leadership expert Dr. Maxwell himself.  Jimmy offers leadership workshops, seminars, keynote speaking, and coaching that aids personal and professional growth through study and practical application of John’s proven leadership methods. 

Jimmy’s latest book, DREAM NOW: 10 Steps to Accomplish the Extraordinary offers a detailed road map to obtaining the life that one desires.  He challenges the reader to step out of an ordinary existence and live a life of extraordinary measure.  His two children’s books, “Hey Big Boy” and “Hey Big Girl,” provide powerful life directional messages to youth of all ages.  He is the founder of the D.R.E.A.M. NOW Program, an intensive youth leadership program whose mission is “to develop responsible, educated, adaptive minds for future leadership.”  

Widely regarded as a leader among leaders, Jimmy McMikle serves in a civic capacity as the National Director of Organizational Effectiveness for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he developed Kappa Alpha Psi’s five-year strategic plan (for years 2021-2025). He also currently chairs Kappa’s COVID-19 Task Force Committee.  He has served on the organizations’ National Board of Directors and as its Northeastern Regional President.
 
Jimmy founded and chairs the “Learn 2 Live” National Community Policing and Social Justice Initiative, which is designed to improve relationships and build bridges between law enforcement and communities of color while formally preparing youth in those communities for law enforcement encounters.  Over the past five years, “Learn 2 Live” has partnered with over 100 police departments across the country and conducted 120 youth forums in 90 cities, training approximately 60,000 kids.  The initiative has garnered a wide variety of corporate support, sponsorships and award recognition.
 
Jimmy McMikle graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University where he earned All Big- Ten Conference honors as a sprinter for the school’s Track & Field team. As a member of three indoor Big-Ten Championship and two outdoor Big-Ten Championship teams, Jimmy is still one of the current record holders for the University’s 4x100 meter relay team. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree.  Jimmy and his family currently reside in Windsor, Connecticut. 

Ted Sanchious

A highly experienced leader in business and not for profit board leadership, Ted has extensive experience designing and developing strategic plans, managing, training and leading leaders and developing products and services for Corporations, State and Local Governments and the Federal Government.
He has more than 24 years of advancement in diversified financial services leadership roles that have included Product Management and Development, Client Service and Operations Management. His rapid advancement has been achieved by utilizing strong leadership skills and well developed communication skills as well as his strengths in planning, administration, and problem solving and project management.

Ted is not only a leader in business, but has served as a community leader throughout his career. One of his favorite quotes from the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is how he approaches life each day; “Everyone can’t be famous, but everyone can be great, for greatness is achieved through service”. He has served as Director or Executive Officer for more than a dozen not for profit organizations over the past 24 years. He has also served as a member of the Financial Services Curriculum Design Team for the State of Arizona, where he worked on implementing a Financial Services Curriculum for grades K through 12. Service is one of Ted’s greatest passions and he believes that every effective leader possesses this passion and belief.

Ted has also demonstrated his leadership in higher education. He has served as an adjunct instructor at Duff’s Business Institute in Pittsburgh, Pa, Waynesburg College (Pittsburgh Campus) and the University of Phoenix (Pittsburgh Campus). As an instructor within the higher education arena, Ted has provided instruction in the areas of Leadership Development, Accounting, Financial Management, Marketing and E-Commerce.

Identified as a leader among leaders, Ted Sanchious serves in a civic role as Chief of Staff to the Northeastern Province Regional President of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. In this role he has oversight for more than 25 working committees and supports the Regional President in managing an organization and network of (undergraduate and alumni) college educated men that provide social action, political action, youth leadership and education programming in more than 70 communities in the northeastern geographical region of the United States of America, the United Kingdom and Germany.

Mr. Sanchious graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Saint Joseph’s University (Philadelphia, Pa.) where he was Captain of the Track and Field Team and earned Hall of Fame Athlete of the Year honors as a Sprinter. He also holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Phoenix. Ted is a member of the Urban Financial Services Coalition, the Institute of Financial Operations and the Association for Financial Professionals. He is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) which distinguishes him in the field of Treasury Management and Finance. Ted Sanchious and his family reside in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.

Harry K. Bonsu, MBA

 Harry has more than twenty-five years of experience as a top-level administrator in a variety of fields, including working with healthcare organizations, human service agencies, and small businesses. Since 2008, Harry Bonsu has been the Senior Vice President for Administration and Member Services, managing 8 diversified departments. 

At Independence Care System, Harry combines his business acumen with his strong ability to connect with people to promote the provision of person-centered services.   Formerly the Chief Financial Officer at Safe Space NYC, Harry has extensive experience leading a diverse team with a wide variety of skill sets and backgrounds. In 2019 SUNY New Paltz President Donald Christian presented Harry with the Heritage Award, the institution’s highest honor.  In keeping with the spirit of business and leadership, in 2007 Mr. Bonsu founded Golden Shores Financial Group, an insurance and tax Services Company currently based in the Mid-Hudson Valley area, and serves all 50 states. He is also an IRS certified tax preparer. A graduate of S.U.N.Y New Paltz, Mr. Bonsu earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, has a degree in Business Management and an MBA in Business Finance.  

Mr. Bonsu is a proud and active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, where he is a board member for the Poughkeepsie Alumni Chapter, as well as served on numerous finance committees at the local, regional, and national levels of the organization. With a passion for philanthropy, Harry sits on several not for profit boards, whose focus is serving the youth, seniors, disabled and underserved populations. He is the former Chairman for Beyond the Dream Foundation & Co-Founder and Treasurer for Dream Builders Foundation, Inc. For the past 20 years, Harry has provided scholarship opportunities for students at his alma mater, who have demonstrated leadership qualities and a passion for community service. 

Johnny Barnes

Director

Mr. Barnes is a retired IBM Vice President and CTO with over 40 years of IBM service in a variety of strategy, product, solution development, system architecture, management and executive positions.  Mr. Barnes was one of IBM’s top executives.  He was appointed to several IBM corporate staff positions, including several critical IBM strategy, product and manufacturing task forces that established the foundation of IBM's business and technical transformation. He was a critical high-level manager and leader of IBM’s mid range and high performance RISC based products which reestablished IBM’s industry leadership.  Mr. Barnes led the re-engineering of IBM’s internal hardware development, global computing and telephony environments.  He also grew IBM’s Manufacturing, Financial, Communication and Public Sector services businesses.  Mr. Barnes has an overall perspective of the computer industry and its applicability to business segments, as well as computing strategies and advanced technologies to meet emerging distributed computing, business and manufacturing future needs.  

 Mr. Barnes’ professional experience includes several years of business and technical management of products, customer solution offerings and contracts and IBM worldwide organizations.  He was responsible for the definition of IBM's Manufacturing Industries' Worldwide Technical Strategy and the development of key components of the strategy. As a Director Mr. Barnes was responsible for transforming IBM's worldwide hardware and systems development strategy in support of IBM’s re-engineered business process, Integrated Product Development (IPD).  As Vice President he was responsible for transforming IBM’s global infrastructure to a premier e-business computing and VOIP telephony environment.   As the Vice President and Deputy CIO, Mr. Barnes was responsible for IBM’s worldwide information technology environment and advanced technology deployment within IBM.   As the Vice President and CTO of IBM's Public Sector, he was responsible for transforming a troubled strategic government agency infrastructure program into a success and integration of advance technology solutions into multiple agencies. Mr. Barnes’ management responsibilities included business management, strategy, architecture, design, development and deployment of both IBM and customer business solutions utilizing advance technologies and standards.   

 Mr. Barnes is recognized worldwide as an accomplished executive computer industry leader and technologist.  In his career with IBM, he received 8 patents, 3 IBM invention achievement awards, several IBM informal, divisional, and corporate awards for his technical and management contributions to IBM. Mr. Barnes has numerous publications on a wide variety of technical areas.  He was recognized nationally by NIST DOD Continuous Acquisition and Life-cycle Support (CALS), the National Eagle Leadership Institute (NELI) and National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).  NSBE awarded Mr. Barnes the Black Engineer of the Year award in 2011.  Mr. Barnes holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston and attended graduate school at the University of Texas concentrating on software engineering and manufacturing automation.  He is Project Management (PMP®) and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) V3 certified.   Currently, as the owner of an IT consulting and services company, Mr. Barnes provides leadership and consulting to companies and government agencies globally.  In addition, he was a director on the board of SCRA Advance Technology International and STEM Premier (Chairman). 

Michael Brewington

Director

 is currently a produce broker with Jerry Shulman Produce Company, Inc., and has employed in the industry for the last 39 years.  The company imports and sells domestic & international produce throughout the New York metropolitan area and along the entire East Coast.  He is responsible for coordinating the sale & delivery of wholesale produce to foodservice companies, purveyors, supermarket chains and federal-state-city institutions. Michael began his career in the foodservice industry as a sales representative for Proctor & Gamble. 

Through the years of working in the produce industry, Michael has enjoyed his participation with several not for profit organizations such as City Harvest of New York City, Food for Survival and Little Sisters of the Poor. Each of these organizations provide food and meals to the less fortunate.  

 Further, Michael is one of the architects who established the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Brooklyn-Long Island Alumni Chapter Scholarship Foundation, now serving as the chairman.  Since its inception in 1995, the Foundation, with Michael’s leadership, is responsible for distributing thousands of dollars in scholarships, as well as organizing many programs and events geared toward the youth in the community. 

Michael holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Economics/Political Science from Clemson University.  He is member of various civic organizations. 

André G. Early

Director

André G. Early is a native New Yorker having been raised in the Parkway Homes section within the Town of Greenburgh.  Mr. Early graduated from Valhalla High School and is a proud alumnus of Hampton University (Hampton, VA).  Mr. Early continues to have strong ties to the Greenburgh and White Plains communities; as a member and former officer of Bethel Baptist Church, White Plains, NY, a member of the White Plains-Greenburgh Chapter of the NAACP, a member of the New York Hampton Alumni Club, a member of Bright Hope Lodge #62, Vice Chairman of the Lower Hudson Valley Diamond Foundation, a member of Westchester County’s Human Rights Commission, Fair Housing Committee, Police Reform and Reimagining Task Force, and a mentor to youth.   

Prior to becoming Deputy Commissioner for Westchester County’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Conservation, Mr. Early served as Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner for Greenburgh’s Department of Community Resources at the Theodore D. Young Community Center, and has been employed with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. International Headquarters located in Philadelphia, PA as the Director of Undergraduate & University Affairs.  Mr. Early’s additional professional experience includes serving as a Community Disaster Specialist with the American Red Cross of Bergen County (NJ) and a Youth Aide with the City of White Plains Youth Bureau.

Joseph E. Cordero, EdD

Director

Dr. Joseph Cordero was raised in the Morrisania section of the Bronx during the tumultuous 1980s.  In retrospect it was during this time of community upheaval due to the saturation of crack and violence that he unknowingly found his calling in life.  While a senior at Walton High School, Joseph became involved with the Pre-Teachers Academy, where he taught Fundamentals of American Democracy to sophomore students. His demeanor towards students and mastery of the curriculum led him to become the first Socratic Teacher Award winner in the program. It was then that he found his passion. 

Dr. Cordero attended Binghamton University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. After graduation he continued his education at Binghamton on full scholarship to receive his Master degree in Social Sciences. His education then took him to the University at Albany where he was awarded a Master in Education and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Management and Organizational Studies.  During this time, he was recognized by the Governor Mario Cuomo as one of the top Latino graduate students in the state of New York.  Joseph received his doctorate at the St. John Fisher College in Education Doctorate in Executive Leadership. 

Dr. Cordero is the principal of the renowned Harlem Children’s Zone Promise Academy I Elementary School. During his tenure as principal students have seen more than 30% growth in math and English.  His students regularly outperform the district, city and state on state examinations. This year his special education students outperformed their NYC counterparts by triple the amount! As Frederick Douglas once said, “It is easier to build strong children than it is to repair broken men”. 

Dr. Cordero is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. He is a 1986 initiate of Mu Kappa Chapter at Binghamton University. In 2014 he became the Polemarch/ President of the Bronx Alumni Chapter where he ushered in a period of excellence and unprecedented community service. The chapter received countless citations from the city and state for clothing/ feeding the community, providing scholarships and mentoring opportunities to young men in the Bronx and providing countless children with Christmas gifts.  These efforts lead to the chapter being named the winner of the Northeastern.

Christopher J. Thompkins, Sr

Director

Christopher J. Thompkins, Sr. was born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia, PA where he attended St. Carthage Elementary and Roman Catholic High School.  In his free time, he traveled to his favorite after school location, the Christy Community Center.  He quickly realized the stark disparities in the community centers he visited while on the traveling AAU team and wanted to make a difference.  Christopher started volunteering while in high school and enjoyed helping others.  Volunteering his time made him appreciate the importance of giving back to the community. 

 Christopher attended Saint Joseph’s University and received a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems.  After graduation, Christopher was hired by Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) as a technical analyst.  He spent 7yrs with the company and departed as an Information Technology Manager.  Christopher is currently employed as a Vice President and Portfolio Manager at JPMorgan Chase and Co. 

 Christopher J. Thompkins is a fall 1997 initiate of the Chester (PA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated and currently the 28th Northeastern Province Polemarch and previously served as the Senior Province Vice Polemarch for four years.  Well recognized for his extreme dedication to the fraternity and a strong work ethic, he served the Northeastern Province as Assistant Keeper of Records and Keeper of Records over an 11 year period, as well as Webmaster for 6 years.  

As Webmaster, he garnered national recognition for the Northeastern Province by winning the Ronald R. Young Website Award for most outstanding province website at the Grand Chapter Meeting in 2007 and 2011.  Christopher was successfully elected without opposition during his tenure as Keeper of Records under three different administrations (24th to 26th).  He wholeheartedly believes this was a result of consistently demonstrating an ability to get the job done with extreme satisfaction from the Northeastern Province leadership and members at large.  He is a Grand Chapter, Northeastern Province and Chester (PA) Alumni Life Member.  His most proud accomplishment is knowing he has been financial and active ever since he became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi! 

James E. Andrews Th.M.

Director

 Currently Director of the Office for Black Catholics in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Mr. Andrews previously served as the Director of the Office for Black Catholics and Coordinator of the Racial Justice Commission for the Diocese of Camden. He also was an adjunct professor for the Diocese formation for Deaconate candidates. His primary goals in that role were to increase the visibility and involvement of the Black Catholic community throughout South Jersey through faith formation, education, and leadership development. 

In 2016, Mr. Andrews was elected President of the National Association of Black Catholic Administrators (NABCA) by his colleagues in other dioceses throughout the United States. The NABCA provides a forum for Black Catholic Administrators to gather and share resources that effectively address the spiritual needs, issues, and concerns facing the Black Catholic community. Mr. Andrews served as President for two years. Prior to his time with the Diocese of Camden, Mr. Andrews spent 39 years working in various capacities for the United States Department of Labor including but not limited to conducting seminars and workshop on the Federal Workers Compensation Program to Congressional Offices, Union groups and Federal Managers. 

Additionally, He served as District Governor for Toastmasters International managing 96 clubs and over 3,000 members in Eastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey.  Volunteer work included working with ESL students in the Gloucester County literacy program. Mr. Andrews holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in English from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Theology Degree from Georgian Court University. He has also completed partial post graduate work toward a Master of Public Administration Degree at Penn State University.  He has certificates from LaSalle University in Fundraising and Grant writing. Mr. Andrews is a parishioner of the Saint Martin de Porres Parish in North Philadelphia. He is a board member of several non-profit organizations.  He is a former Polemarch of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Philadelphia Alumni Chapter and Former Chairman of the Cheyney University Foundation.  He lives in Sicklerville, NJ with his wife Dee. 

Bryan R. Williams

Director

Bryan R. Williams is a partner in the New York office of the national law firm Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., where he specializes in all aspects of commercial litigation with an emphasis in tort defense, real estate, and banking litigation. He has significant jury trial experience on both the state and federal levels. He has been engaged in private practice in New York City for over 39 years. For 15 years prior to joining Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., he was a named partner in the Wall Street law firm, Pettus & Williams, PLLC, where he also specialized in commercial and real estate litigation. 

A 1976 initiate of the Alpha Theta Chapter at Tennessee State University, he served as Student Government President at Tennessee State for the years 1977-78. A 1981 cum laude graduate of the Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C., and a 1978 graduate of Tennessee State University, Brother Williams began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. He practiced commercial litigation at the Wall Street law firms of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, and Flom and Deforest & Duer. 

Brother Williams is also a member of the five person New York State Board of Law Examiners, the body responsible for the writing, grading, and administration of the New York bar examination. The Board is also responsible for establishing policy for the bar exam. The New York Court of Appeals appointed Mr. Williams to the Board in 1996. He is the first and only African American male to ever hold this position. He is also the Past Chair of the Board of Trustees of the National Conference of Bar Examiners, the national organization that is responsible for providing bar examination materials throughout the United States. 

Brother Williams is a life member of both the Fraternity and the Fraternity’s Northeastern Province. He is General Legal Counsel to the Northeastern Province, a former Polemarch of the Fraternity’s New Rochelle- White Plains Alumni Chapter, and the Chair of the Lower Hudson Valley Diamond Foundation, the not-for-profit arm of the New Rochelle- White Plains Alumni Chapter. Brother Williams is also involved in a number of community and religious organizations, serving as a member of the Board of Deacons of the historic Canaan Baptist Church of Christ in Harlem, and the Board of Directors of the Lakeland Education Foundation in Westchester County, New York. He is a former guest legal expert commentator for the Courtroom Television Network. Brother Williams lives in Cortlandt Manor, New York with his wife Robin and their children Bryan Jr., Tahari, and Bryce.

Richard Lee Snow

Director

Richard Lee Snow currently serves as Regional Development Director for UNCF (United Negro College Fund) managing all activities throughout the states of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Southern New Jersey, West Virginias,and the District of Columbia, with offices in Richmond, Washington DC, and Philadelphia.  Snow previously served as the 8 th Executive Director/ COO of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., as well as Senior Advisor of Multicultural Business Management for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Richard has been featured both locally and nationally in various print media as well asradio and television. Included are guest television appearances on the nationally recognized “Late Night with Tavis Smiley” show on the Black Entertainment Television (BET) network as well as The Monique Show, David Tutera's CELEBrations show with Omarosa Manigault.  Snow is the immediate past chairman of Dream Builders Foundation and has also served as Chairman of the National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals for which he is currently Chairman Emeritus. In 2019, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of PHL Diversity, a division of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, for which he still serves.
